Cassiopeia - Pop-up Bar
PROBLEM: 2 week sprint challenge to design a pop-up bar integrated within the existing architecture of New West, and aligned with the identity of the area and it’s growing population. Construction was limited to a footprint the size of a parking space, and the signage for the pop-up needed to incorporate light in some way.
SOULTION: Taking inspiration from the Cassiopeia constellation, I chose to transform a rooftop that was visible from multiple viewpoints, and it’s adjacent dilapidated alleyway. The access to the rooftop is hidden behind a large light installation that casts a unique light pattern onto the street it runs off of; creating intrigue in an otherwise mundane location.
MY ROLE: Entire design and concept development.
